Plan your pixels to create cool game art!

Join the Hand Eye Society and create a pixel perfect workshop that will teach you how to make your own pixel art for games and other uses.

We’ll be adventuring to learn the ins and outs of pixel art and how to create it in the free art-making program GIMP. Participants will learn the fundamentals and have their own pixel art creation by the end of the workshop!

How can I access the workshop? Is it live?

All participants who sign up will be sent an e-mail with a Zoom link valid for the date and time of the workshop. It will be taught live. Those who sign up may be given a recording of the workshop if it is being recorded in the form of an unlisted Youtube link.

Is this workshop right for me?

Have you ever wanted to make art for games? Then this workshop is for you! Whether you want to make your 2D artwork pixelated like classic games or smoother like modern games, you’ll learn important skills, tips, and tricks for how to make some cool game art. You don’t need to consider yourself an artist or have any experience. We’ll be starting from the basics.

Do I need to install anything?

Yes, you will need to install GIMP to participate. GIMP is a free art-making program that’s very similar to Photoshop. Much of what you learn in GIMP can be applied to photoshop or many other art programs. Once you install it in your computer, you are ready!
